A very sad day – the “king of copywriting” has gone 4/11/2007

Posted by Brett McFall in : General , trackback

Back in 2002, I travelled 15 hours in a plane to learn from one man. The King of Copywriting. A writer with such cut-through you could barely take your eyes off the page.

That event changed my life forever.

Sadly, today is he gone.

Gary Halbert

Gary Halbert.

And I think one of his best friends sums up this man best…

And if you haven’t ever done so, then do yourself a favour and read some of Gary’s best stuff at:

In fact, here is the actual newsletter I wrote back in 2002 after returning from meeting him in person. Tips that are as important today as they were 5 years ago.

Hi Brett,

Sad to hear the loss of Gary Halbert.

While I never met him in person, I did get to know him a little bit through his Gary Halbert Letter.

I want to thank you as well Brett because it was you that told me about Gary and his work. I’m able to help more people today through my copywriting because of what you and Gary have taught me.

I thank you for that.

Take Care

Scott Wilson
