G’day my friend,

I’m sitting here in my office. The weather is beautifully warm (if you live here in sunny Australia, that is) … and as I look outside my window a fat old kookaburra is sitting on a fence scouring the grass for bugs. I’ll tell you something – a kookaburra is one captivating bird to watch.

Now, a few weeks ago I jetted off to the USA for a copywriting seminar. Not just any ordinary seminar, mind you. But a copywriting bootcamp held by the one and only …

… Gary Halbert!

Well if you haven’t, you should now make it your business to find out everything you can about Gary Halbert. I’m not going to tell you how. That’s for you to decide.

Heck, surely you’ve got some time in your day to search on the internet, haven’t you? Well do yourself a favour and do some research on this guy.

Hey, do you think I’d fly to the States for 3 days just for any old person? In fact, there are only about 3 marketing masters I’d fly all that way for. And Gary is one of them … obviously.

Now, you might be wondering … What did I learn? Was it worth it?

Well I can tell you that it was a massive insight into the life of one of the true legends of advertising.

For 2 and half days Gary poured out secret after secret. In fact, I think that many of the secrets he gave out went over the heads of a lot of the attendees there.

But not mine! So why is that? Well, as a copywriter of 14 years, I was attending the seminar in an "advanced state."

What I mean by that is, there weren’t many copywriters in the audience. A lot of marketing savvy business owners mind you (each with a fair degree of advertising knowledge), but very few who were already fully talking “Gary’s language” before they arrived.

What that meant for me was…
In my estimation, I picked up little gems of knowledge about every 10 minutes. In fact, my 25 dense pages of hastily-scribbled notes is testament to that. Little light bulbs were exploding in my head as more and more pieces fitted together.

For instance, here’s just a snippet of the money-making knowledge Gary spat out like cash register receipts on Christmas Eve…

… word-for-word sizzling offers … precise details for tripling the response of sales letters … the exact temperature your room should be at to write killer copy … what type of music to have playing in the background in order to pump out butt-kicking sales material … how a website should look if you want maximum sales (I’m just quickly flicking through my notes here) … the best way to make a sale on the net (this secret really amazed me) … a marketing tool even more powerful than a “FREE REPORT” … something so simple, but amazingly more effective than advertising in a publication which your market reads intensely … which type of bullets outsell others by 3 to 1 – and so much more.

Does that sound like information
which could make you a buck or two?

 

Now, I’ve gotta tell you something: 90% of the stuff Gary talked about, I not only knew but had been using to help my clients and myself make tens of thousands of dollars for many years. But you see, it was the other 10% which made ALL the difference. And which made the whole journey worthwhile.

You see, I discovered how a person like Gary Halbert … THINKS.

What I learnt was not so much
“WHAT TO DO” but more… “HOW TO THINK.”

And that my friend is so powerful you cannot begin to imagine.

If you ever get the chance to be with the best in your industry – someone who you think might just have something to teach you (no matter how small), be prepared to climb over the highest mountain to discover what it is.

You see, you can never know everything. And even if that knowledge might improve your understanding by only 1% … or 2% … or even by 10% (like in my experience) – it could give you the edge which makes all the difference.

Look at me … I was prepared to fly half way round the world to hear what I wanted to know. Would you be prepared to do that? Would you truly fly out at a moment’s notice in order to hear advice from the best in the world?

You’d be crazy NOT to, wouldn’t you? Especially when that knowledge could make you many, many times the cost of getting that information.

Let me ask you something: Guess how many people from Australia traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to hear Gary’s talk?

5? … 10? … 20 Aussies?

Nope. Just one. Little ol’ me.

And now what that means is this:

 

My clients will have a distinct advantage over ANYONE who doesn’t have me write their ads. For 14 years I’ve tested and measured the best knowledge in the business, and turned it into millions of dollars. Now I’ve just added to that knowledge.
